Although the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be behind us, we are still facing many challenges with unpredictable supplier lead times and an ever-changing market. Our focus on integrity means we believe in always being transparent with the challenges we face. 

Currently, supplier lead times on key electrical power distribution products are at unprecedented levels. For example, panelboards which once took just over two weeks to be delivered are now taking anywhere from 12 to 20 weeks. Safety control relays once took one week to arrive and are now being delivered after 6-8 months. These are just a couple of examples but the trend of long delays continues for many of the key elements necessary to run our business.

How do we combat delayed supply lead times in your installations?

1. Creative Solutions: With our extensive experience and knowledge in the electrical field, we engineer creative solutions to overcome the delays in key item availability. These items can be temporary measures to continue production while waiting on delayed items, or permanent solutions. Sometimes it just takes a new perspective to find a non-conventional resolution.

2. In-house Stock: Hill Electric’s warehouse has an impressive amount of inventory. Through our daily communications with suppliers, we know what critical items are typically causing delays and we maintain a stock of these items.  We use these items to support our customers for new installations and when you have that unexpected breakdown.

3. Industry Partnerships: Through close to 70 years of supporting manufacturing, we have built extensive partnerships with suppliers and other service and trade contractors. These relationships give us an edge to support your installation with additional outside expertise and inventory supply.
