Hill Electric was recently honored by the Anderson Chamber with the 2023 Pillar of Anderson Award. This award has been given for 20 years and counting, and is bestowed upon outstanding professionals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the community. The annual chamber luncheon and awards ceremony, held at Anderson University in December, was a celebration of success, commitment, and the spirit of giving back.
The award was presented by Amanda Taylor, Regional Director of External Affairs at AT&T and member of the Anderson Chamber Board of Directors. She presented in lieu of Pamela Christopher, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Anderson Chamber, who was unable to attend. Amanda noted Hill Electric’s history in Anderson, founded in 1954 by Walter Hill, and the role they have played in the economy and community for 70 years. She also noted the company’s commitment to safety and team welfare. Perhaps most significantly, Hill Electric’s philanthropic efforts were recognized, including the established college scholarship program, involvement with Women Talk Construction and Women Confidence Builders, and contributions to over 30 charitable and professional organizations throughout the Upstate.

Along with Hill, Indigo Custom Framing (Small Business of the Year), Mary Haley Thompson (Young Athena Award) and Sandy Campbell (Athena Award) were also honored by the Anderson Chamber.
“We were honored to be recognized by The Anderson Chamber of Commerce as the 2023 Pillar of Anderson,” said Trey Thomas, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hill Electric. “Our commitment to our community is a vital part of who we are, and always will be.”
