ANDERSON, S.C. – Trey Thomas, President and Chief Operations Officer with Hill Electric, recently received the prestigious designation of Top 20 Under 40 from the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce

Thomas has over a decade of experience with the Hill Electric team, starting as an Estimator and Project Manager and progressing through the company as a Vice President and now as part of the leadership team. His vision and dedication have advanced Hill Electric to where it is today— a leading industrial electrical contractor serving the region in a variety of businesses.

President & CEO of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce Pamela Christopher said, “Trey Thomas is a true servant leader and has done so much to help develop future leaders throughout Anderson County with our Junior Leadership Anderson and Leadership Anderson programs. Trey has a true servant’s heart and just wants to do what he can to help others move forward and succeed. That indeed is a mark of a true leader!”

Thomas is a natural leader, and his “boots on the ground” management style are admired by both Hill Electric employees and customers. He leads by example, as a hard worker with a high level of integrity.

In addition to his leadership skills, Thomas is also innovative, creating efficient solutions around Hill Electric’s niche of machinery installs, facility power systems, and data communication for industrial clients.

Vance Cooper—one of the most tenured employees at Hill Electric with 35 years of service— describes Thomas as intelligent, one that operates with high integrity, and is extremely dedicated. He elaborated, “He goes into all situations with composure.”

Another Hill Electric team member said, “Recently, Trey literally got into the trenches with us— no pun intended—to dig a ditch for the new conduit being prepared for a client’s new facility.”

However, Thomas’s impact can be felt far wider than simply his work with Hill Electric; he is also involved with the Upstate community, serving as a board member for numerous organizations including Junior Leadership of Anderson, the Anderson Chamber of Commerce, the Salvation Army, the Anderson Area YMCA, and the ANMED Health Foundation. He is also active at his church—First Presbyterian Church of Anderson—where he serves as an elder. Additionally he’s an Eagle Scout—a title that requires hard work, service, and determination. Thomas graduated from Clemson University with an Electrical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree in 2010.
