The modern workplace is rapidly evolving, requiring companies to find innovative ways of training students to become the next generation of employees. Hill Electric’s philosophy of empowerment and accountability, paired with training and educational initiatives, ensures that our future employees are successful and meet the highest standards on every project.

As we continue to be engaged with Career and Technical Education throughout the year, it’s pivotal that we recognize the achievements and accomplishments of our employees, partners, and future leaders. Our partnership with local vocational programs enables us to build relationships with high school and college students and share with them the vast opportunities associated with being an Industrial Electrical Contractor. Our workforce initiatives take on a variety of forms, from apprenticeships and internships to certified training and resume guidance, to skilled trade events and career fairs.

By integrating hands-on learning into the classroom, students are able to see the value in building new skills for the future. With a commitment to community engagement and safety, our Vice President, David Wolke, is able to visit schools directly and offer basic training courses. From teaching students at Greenville Technical College on basic transformer theory to educating students on lift training and electrical safety at Crescent High School and other schools, our mission has always been to create an impact on the community. Our workforce development team is able to attend a wide range of events in South Carolina including the Anderson Districts I and II Career and Technology Center, Bonds Career Center, Donaldson Career Center, Tri-County’s Job Fair, and Clemson University’s Nieri Family Construction Science and Management Fair. These events provide an intersection between education and leadership, and share with students various opportunities in skilled trades.

Workforce development is an ongoing process, a constant means of educating and empowering both our current and future employees. While we do a fair amount of training outside the warehouse, we also offer apprenticeship programs to combine on-site work with classroom learning. By providing programs through Tri-County and Greenville Technical Colleges, our team is able to offer continuing education to help students acquire trade and craft skills.

At Hill Electric, we believe in delivering exceptional workmanship through an emphasis on innovation and learning. Our master electricians have been with us for more than 20 years, and we encourage such longevity with extensive training, impressive workforce initiatives, and creating an impact on the community.
